How to get your acceptance dates from SKAT
· 4 minutes
For CBAM, every customs line needs one date: the day customs accepted the declaration that released the goods. That date decides two things.
- The year the tonnes count in, for the 50-tonne threshold and for the declaration.
- The price of the certificates for 2026 imports, which is set per quarter.
The problem: many prints have no date
Printed declarations from SKAT's import system (DMS) often show no acceptance date. The declaration number (MRN) tells the year, which is enough to count the tonnes, but not the quarter. Without the quarter, the cost of a 2026 line can only be given as a range between the lowest and the highest quarterly price.
Where the dates are: the monthly settlement statement
SKAT's monthly settlement statement for customs duties lists each declaration with the date customs received it ("Modtdato"), which is the acceptance date. You can download it as a CSV file from SKAT's online services for businesses, or ask your customs broker for it.
- Get the settlement statement for each month you imported in, as CSV.
- Upload it to CBAM Wise with your declarations, in any order.
- CBAM Wise matches each declaration by number and fills in the acceptance date where the print had none, marked "SKAT statement". Where the print shows another date, it shows you both.
A useful side effect: missing declarations
The statement also shows declarations you have not uploaded yet. CBAM Wise lists them as "missing in this period" until you upload the print, or confirm with a reason that it had no CBAM goods. This matters: customs authorities send import data directly to the EU CBAM Registry, so a declaration missing from your CBAM declaration shows up as a gap.
It only works one way: a declaration that is not on any statement proves nothing, because declarations without duty or VAT are not listed.
